Heritage Oaks
Marietta, GA 30064
Heritage Oaks, one of West Cobb’s most prestigious neighborhoods, is located 5 1/2 miles west of the historic Marietta Square, along Dallas Highway (Route #120), about 2 miles past the Kennesaw Battlefields National Park. The community of 165 homes was built between 1993 and 1997 on the soft rolling hills of an old farm along the west bank of the Mud Creek, site of Civil War skirmishes in June 1864. Before the homestead lotteries of the 1820’s, this land was inhabited by the Creek Indians and later the Cherokees.
Heritage Oaks common grounds include fourteen acres of environmentally protected nature preserve along the creek and highway, two tennis courts, a large swimming pool with baby pool, a clubhouse for parties and meetings built in 1994, a playground built in 1995, and a community tennis pavilion completed in 2003.
Community activities: Heritage Oaks has a number of ALTA and USTA tennis teams: men’s, women’s, mixed doubles, juniors, and seniors teams. During the swim season the pool is bustling with the practice and competition swim meets of the Heritage Oaks Torpedoes children/teens swim team. In addition to sports teams, there are a number of committees that afford residents the opportunity to become involved in the community: the Covenants, Communications, Landscape, Welcoming, Clubhouse, Signage & Lighting, Social, Swim Team, and Tennis Committees.
